grsec: denied write to CPU MSR

Postby Fuxino » Wed Nov 11, 2015 11:05 am

I'm getting this when I boot my notebook:
Code: Select all
[   12.694632] grsec: denied write to CPU MSR by /usr/bin/x86_energy_perf_policy[x86_energy_perf:385] uid/euid:0/0 gid/egid:0/0, parent /usr/bin/tlp[tlp:260] uid/euid:0/0 gid/egid:0/0

Is it something I should worry about?
Also, this message appears when I'm at the login prompt so it's kind of annoying.

Nevermind, I just RTFM :D If I understand correctly, this is expected since GRKERNSEC_KMEM option is enabled. So I just disabled the tlp feature that tries to write to /dev/cpu/*/msr and got rid of the annoying error message.
