PAX terminating Xorg on boot.

Postby reesee » Thu Jul 08, 2004 9:57 pm

Hello

I have installed grsecurity-2.0.1-2.6.7.patch to kernel-2.6.7. When I reboot I get

kernel: PAX: execution attempt in: <anonymous mapping>, 081ef000-0824c000 081ef000
kernel: PAX: terminating task: /usr/X11R6/bin/Xorg(X):26454, uid/euid: 0/0, PC: 08248310, SP: 5bf93a7c

I looked in the Xorg log and I see "(WW) Open APM failed (/dev/apm_bios) (No such device)" I looked and the device is there so I'm guessing xorg does not have permission to read files is dev.

Ideas?

Thanks

you need recompile X and link it statically

for gentoo it is USE="static" emerge xorg
