Other OS + GrSecurity?

Postby dystopia » Sun Jun 30, 2002 5:23 pm

First of all, I hope this won't be seen as off-topic or flamebait; it's not intended to be.

I'm also wondering wether the GrSecurity team will release patches for *BSD kernels as well.

I'm interested in running GrSecurity-like patches on *BSD. I only have an OpenBSD box right now, but I will be running FreeBSD again the future on another system.

For OpenBSD the projects I know are:

Anti trojan: Trojanproof
All-in-1: Stephanie (note: this code in unstable and not supported by the OpenBSD team
ACL system: Systrace (In -current!)

For FreeBSD the projects I know are:
Anti trojan: Trojanproof

Anybody know other projects for other OSes?

yes, we do plan on implementing grsecurity on other OSes once we've done everything we wanted to with Linux. There's nothing really grsecurity-like for BSDs, except stephanie, which is basically just a port of the original phrack openbsd patches to a newer kernel. For ACL systems though you have LOMAC, securebsd, trustedbsd...etc

Interesting. Is there an ETA or is it onlong schedule 'sometime'?

I found this patch, called Papillion, for Solaris 8.
