Postby OwNeR » Thu Mar 13, 2003 1:46 am

Hello

a test box and after reboot i dont
can see a login promt - just a black

to solve this ?

sounds like you broke your kernel. you have to apply the patch to a clean 2.4.20 kernel. the grsec options dont modify anything that would mess up your console terminals to my knowledge. grsec doesnt enable acl's by default either so that shouldnt be the issue.

try recompiling your kernel w/o any grsec features enabled, and see if the problem is still present. if it is you broke something else. if not readd options slowly and narrow down for us which one is causing the prob.

spender (the main developer) is afk until the weekend so this is probably the best help I can offer ya.

you say you are using newest cvs? you could also try the stable version.

Hello TGKx

I have used the latest grsec + 2.4.20 kernel + iptables
and the grsec ip tables patch for the matching version.
I can remember that in grsec was a feature to stop
that ppl can local login - i have checked my kernel config
and this feature not found. I am at this moment not really
sure whether grsec broke/stop local logins or its a problem
with my kernels configuration ....

If no one here can help - spender contact me plz if
you are back online/at home ;)
